About Vanuatu

The Happy Islands

Port Vila is the vibrant capital of Vanuatu, an archipelago nation scattered across the South Pacific. For surfers, it's an underrated destination — consistent swells, warm water year-round, and a handful of world-class breaks that most travelling surfers have barely heard of. That's part of the appeal.

Blue Pango Guesthouse sits on Pango Road — a coastal strip just 10 minutes from the city centre — steps from Breakas, one of the region's best reef breaks. You get the quiet, the views, and the surf without being cut off from everything Port Vila has to offer.

Climate & Surf Season

When to Come

Vanuatu enjoys a warm tropical climate year-round with water temperatures around 26–28°C (79–82°F) — no wetsuit needed. The dry season from April to October is prime surf season: consistent SE swells push into Breakas with the most regularity, winds are clean, and conditions are often ideal for days at a stretch. The wet season from November to March is warmer and greener, with occasional cyclone swell producing some of the biggest surf of the year.
